Help the Chicago fitness community Heal the Hood with
I Grow Chicago!
For one week this May, the Chicago fitness community will join together to support the Englewood community. More than 13 studios are participating with over 100 classes to bring awareness and raise money for I Grow Chicago. Through donations given during classes, the Chicago fitness community is looking to raise at least $30K and build I Grow Chicago their first ever full-sized basketball court.
I Grow Chicago’s Breathing and Balling Basketball Court, the first project of their Peace Campus initiative, will create accessible alternatives to violence and opportunities for physical activity and stress relief. Managed by community elders, this space will include a yoga and basketball court, walking track, and bleacher seating for youth and adults.
To find participating studios and join a class, see the calendar of events below. The only way we are going to get that basketball court is through your generous donations during class. After class you will be asked by each instructor to use our text-to-donate platform to make your donation. Your payment for class does not go to I Grow as a donation, you have to donate using the texting platform after class. In case you can’t make it to any of the classes below and would still like to donate, please text SWEAT2018 to 844-544-7171
And make sure to check back — new classes are being added every day!

About I Grow Chicago:
The mission of I Grow Chicago is to grow Englewood from surviving to thriving through community connection, skill building, and opportunity. We have a Peace House built by the community for the community, where we host more than 15 healing programs for all ages. 100% of the children in our after-school program, all of whom are under age 12, have heard gunshots, and nearly 25% have seen a dead body. Chicago experiences more gun violence than New York City and Los Angeles combined, and our community lives that every day. I Grow Chicago strives every day to bring healing to the hood.
